After flirting with a B.A. degree in art, Cynthia ultimately chose a different career path as a writer. Many twists and turns and some twenty years later, the path led her back to making art. She's particularly fond of Richard Diebenkorn and Edward Hopper, although she is also intrigued by the minimalist work of Agnes Martin and Donald Judd.
Her personal explorations with different media have resulted in art that is spare and refined as well as art that would never be called minimalist. And that is what she enjoys most about the art-making process: the total liberation of the creative spirit. But she does like to see her work in an empty room with white walls.
